Edward Merrill was born on October 3, 1945, to the late Levi & Fern Merrill. He is a retired coal miner and superintendent having been employed by Manalapan Mining for many years.

She was born on November 28, 2014, in Harlan, KY. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Mark Woodard and her great grandparents, Jack & Jerry Lynn Stevens, and Raymond Surgener. John enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 and served overseas as a medic in the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, John went to work for International Paper for 46 years. He will be interred at Calvary Cemetery in Mantador, ND in a private ceremony. Harlan, was an active member of his community in religious, professional, social and political organizations, often taking on leadership roles within them. When not engaged in his myriad responsibilities, he could be found working on automotive restoration projects, Beth’s MG, his Father’s 1972 pickup, and most recently his Harley Davidson Trike. Aside from his family and his hobbies, Harlan found the most pleasure in telling the truth, speed, adrenaline, problem solving, innovation and standing out. Harlan was united in marriage to Joyce Ketterling and became the father of Nichole and Pat on June 12th, 1976 in Fargo, ND. Their union was blessed by another child, Elyzabeth in 1979. The family remained together until Joyce’s sudden death on August 9, 1980.

Harlan Robbins “Bob” Goodsell, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather passed away at 90 years of age on November 24, 2022 in Chico, California. Born in San Diego, California on November 10, 1932, Bob was the second of four children born to Harlan Joseph Goodsell and Alta Mae Robbins Gooodsell. Bob grew up in southern California where he met his high school sweetheart, Daisy Jean Lane, whom he married in 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Temple in St. George, Utah.
He is survived by daughter Julee, brothers Leon, Tate, Michael, Marshall and sisters Margaret, Pat, Mary and Cathy together with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was always very proud of the time he served as a CHP officer. After leaving the highway patrol Bob worked as a real estate agent and as a loan officer.
